THE REVIEW

STORY:

After a sensational prequel, Hitman: Absolution takes agent 47's dark and mysterious journey to a whole new level, ranging from crowded streets and train stations to giant factories and motels in the desert. Square Enix accomplishes what many other are unable to do, deliver a story that doesn't disappoint. As the story develops the player get involved in it and gets tempted to know, "what happens next?"

Gameplay:

Hitman: Absolutions gameplay is far superior than its predecessors in many ways, but the newly added checkpoint system that replaced the traditional custom save option doesn't please me. It does however come in handy if the level is too long and you're nearing the end and you accidentally alert a guard, but some of the time it seems un natural that the guard who saw you killing people then running through a door, (which triggers the checkpoint and starts another area) doesn't follow you.
Dragging bodies, changing disguises and hiding in closets feels very fluid and real.
The surrounding items such as knifes and hammers make excellent tools for killing or just causing a distraction.
The new recognising ability of the guards seems unreal as well, how can a guard know every other guard of a 10 story high building?
The guns and melee combats seems quite awesome and the new instinct mode feels good as well, though the point/mark/shoot system is a little far fetched, no matter how highly trained a man is.

Graphics:

Graphics wise, HM:A was one of the best games of 2012, even on the console version the new Glacier 2 engine gives graphics like no other. On the PC the game takes a massive size of 26GBs, which is incredible. The game offers several pre-defined graphical options such as Ultra, High, Low. Though you will need a great PC in order the play the game at a good FPS with ULTRA.

Sounds:

Voices in the game, the sounds, the background character talks seem like out of a movie, which blends in perfectly with the cinematic setting of the game.

OVERALL:

Summary:
- Graphic 10/10
- Sound 9/10
- Lasting Appeal 9/10
- Overall 9/10

I definitely recommend the game, it brought back several memories and made some solid new ones.
The only complain I have with the game is that it should've been longer than it is!
Hats off to Square Enix, a job greatly done!
