[REVIEW] Portal 2

The original Portal game was a prototype, released along Major titles like Team Fortress and Half-life, it was supposed to be a 'fun little game', but it actually tuned out to be the one of the best games of 2007, earning over a dozen "Game of the Year" awards, but can its sequel live up to the expectations? Or was Portal just a one hit wonder?

GAMEPLAY

The game play of Portal 2 is extremely similar to the original game, a simple first person shooter game without too many 'opponents'. The game runs on the Source Engine and delivers pretty smooth gameplay. The levels themselves are sometimes like a 3D platformer and sometimes like a action packed FPS, thats the magic of Portal.

STORY

Most of the game take you through the history of  "Aperture Science"  , and it creates a nostalgic feel, as the player hears the old recordings of the Owner of Aperture Science, Cave Johnson, He guides us through the middle section of the game, until we reach back to the 'modern' test chambers.

The story is a sequel of the original game, and takes us into the future, after the incident in Portal. We wake up as Chell after an unknown amount of years. We are greeted by "Wheatly" a robot. We then, accidentally wake up the Antagonist, GLaDOS. She then ties to kill us and we escape to the 'abandoned' part of the Lab where the history of Aperture laboratories is revealed.

We eventually get back to GLaDOS and Wheatly replaces GLaDOS as the 'in charge' of The laboratories. He then goes Rouge with power and tries to kill GLaDOS and Chell. The rest of the game comprises of the adventure of Chell and GLaDOS to defeat Wheatly.

SOUND

The game has some pretty good voice acting, just like its predecessor. Its song at the end is also quite comforting. The game's sound effects are decent too, nothing too special here.

 GRAPHICS

Portal has some decent graphics, considering it uses the Source Engine. The Portal making is fast and fluid.
